AgSnO2 Silver Tin Oxide Contact Rivets

AgSnO2 silver tin oxide contact rivets are cadmium-free electrical contacts used in relays, switches, contactors and other low-voltage switching devices. The AgSnO2 contact layer provides good resistance to arc erosion, contact welding and electrical wear, while composite rivet designs can use a copper shank to reduce silver consumption. We supply AgSnO2 contact rivets in different material grades, head profiles and dimensions, with custom production available according to drawings or samples.

AgSnO2 electrical contact material is produced by combining silver with tin oxide. Different material compositions can be selected according to the electrical load, contact design and required switching life.

Available material grades should be specified according to the actual application requirements.

For projects replacing an existing AgCdO contact, we recommend evaluating the complete operating conditions rather than selecting AgSnO2 only by matching the contact dimensions.

AgSnO2 contacts can be manufactured as solid or composite rivets.

For composite rivets, AgSnO2 is used on the working contact surface, while copper can be used for the shank or supporting section. This construction places the silver alloy where the electrical switching takes place and reduces the amount of precious metal required for the complete part.

Contact head shape, shank structure and material combination can be made to suit the customer's assembly method.

AgSnO2 contact rivets can be customized according to the required switch or relay design.

For existing parts, a drawing or physical sample can be used to confirm the required dimensions and structure.

AgSnO2 is one of the commonly used alternatives. It offers good resistance to welding and arc erosion without the use of cadmium.

This does not mean that an AgCdO contact should always be replaced directly with an AgSnO2 contact of the same size. Differences in electrical load, temperature rise, contact resistance and switching behavior should be considered when changing materials.

For replacement projects, please provide the existing contact material, dimensions and operating conditions so that the contact structure can be evaluated before production.
