Silver Contacts for Electrical Switches

Silver contacts for electrical switches are used to make and break the electrical circuit inside the switching mechanism. The contact material and structure need to match the operating current, load type, switching frequency and required electrical life.

AgNi (Silver Nickel)

AgSnO2 (Silver Tin Oxide)
AgSnO2 is a cadmium-free contact material with good resistance to arc erosion and contact welding. It is often selected for switches working under higher electrical loads or frequent switching conditions.

Material selection should be based on the actual voltage, current, load characteristics and required service life of the switch.

Different contact structures can be produced according to the switch design, including solid silver alloy contacts and composite contact rivets.

For composite contacts, the working surface uses silver alloy while the supporting part can use copper or another conductive metal. This helps reduce silver consumption while maintaining the required electrical contact performance.

Head shape, contact surface and mounting structure can also be customized to match the switch assembly.
